Odoo 20 for Sales Teams: What’s New in Sales and CRM

Odoo 20 was unveiled at Odoo Experience 2026 in Brussels in September. For sales teams, this release brings 13 new features in Sales and 5 in CRM, plus a handful of smaller enhancements that together add up to a more capable, better-organised sales experience.

Some of the changes are workflow improvements - better dashboards, cleaner views, faster processes. Others introduce entirely new capabilities like periodic pricing calendars and new marketplace integrations. Here’s a breakdown of what matters most for sales teams and sales leaders.

A new Sales Dashboard

The Sales module now opens with a dashboard that shows live counters for “To Confirm”, “To Deliver” and “To Invoice”, along with sales order and revenue figures compared period-on-period. Each counter is clickable, so you can jump straight into filtered lists of the orders that need attention.

For sales managers, this is a cleaner starting point than the previous order-list-first view - it tells you where to focus before you dig into individual records.

Periodic pricing with the new Daily Rates calendar

Pricelists in Odoo 20 include a Daily Rates calendar that shows dated pricing rules. You can select days directly on the calendar and create rules for them - discounts, surcharges, or fixed prices.

This is useful for businesses with time-sensitive pricing: weekend surcharges, holiday discounts, time-limited promotions, or seasonal pricing patterns. Previously, these required workarounds or multiple pricelists. The Daily Rates calendar brings all that into a single, visual tool.

Charge overages

A new “Invoice Overages” option on the Create Invoice wizard lets you bill extra quantities on prepaid service deliveries. If a client’s bought a block of hours or units and you’ve delivered more than they paid for, you can now capture that overage automatically rather than tracking it manually and raising a separate invoice.

For services businesses selling retainer-style arrangements, this is a practical win.

Mark orders as fully invoiced

There’s a new “Close Invoicing” action that marks a confirmed order as fully invoiced, so Odoo stops proposing more invoices for it. If an order is complete but has small amounts left that you’ve written off or decided not to bill, this stops the clutter. A manager can undo it with “Reopen Invoicing” if circumstances change.

Lazada and TikTok Shop connectors

For Enterprise customers selling through online marketplaces, Odoo 20 adds dedicated connectors for Lazada (big in Southeast Asia) and TikTok Shop. Each one imports marketplace orders into Odoo, fetches delivery slips, and syncs inventory levels back.

Not relevant for every business, but if your sales channels include either platform, this closes a significant integration gap.

Loyalty point expiration

Loyalty programs can now set a “Points Validity” in days, after which earned points expire. This gives you a tool to drive repeat purchases on a timeline rather than letting unredeemed points sit on your books indefinitely.

Price rules per packaging type

Pricelist rules can be restricted to specific packagings - for example, a discount that only applies to a pack of 6. This requires Units of Measure & Packagings to be enabled, but once it is, you get much finer control over how pricing applies across different pack sizes.

Product images on quotations

A new “Display Product Images” setting shows product pictures on quotation PDFs and the customer portal. For visual products - fashion, hardware, furniture, equipment - this makes quotes significantly more appealing and reduces the need for separate catalogues or imagery documents.

Sales order line numbering

A simple setting now numbers the lines on sales order forms, PDFs, and the customer portal. For complex orders with lots of items, this makes conversations with customers much easier - “could you clarify line 7” is clearer than “could you clarify that third item from the bottom”.

Services & Materials re-invoicing

A new setting lets you re-invoice linked costs - expenses, vendor bill lines, timesheets - per order, at a fixed price or at cost. For services businesses that pass through costs to clients, this streamlines the billing process significantly.

Ship orders without Inventory

For businesses that use Sales but not the Inventory app, confirmed orders now get a Ship button that records delivery, sends a shipping confirmation email, and tracks delivery status. This closes a long-standing gap for service businesses or those with simple fulfilment needs who don’t need the full Inventory module.

Single-use discount codes

Discount code programs can now be set to “Once per user”, so each customer can only redeem a code once. Useful for first-time customer promotions or targeted campaigns.

CRM Pipeline switcher

The CRM module’s biggest usability change is a new Pipeline switcher at the top of the Kanban view. You can select one sales team to see only its pipeline, or “All Teams” to see everything. Sales managers also get a “Manage Teams” option directly from the switcher.

For businesses with multiple sales teams - by product line, by region, or by customer segment - this is a much faster way to switch focus than filtering manually each time.

CRM Upsells from lead

For Enterprise users, a lead whose customer has existing subscriptions now gets a “Subscriptions” smart button. The button opens those subscriptions, and any upsells or renewals created from them link back to the originating lead. The lead’s expected and recurring revenue update automatically.

This is a significant improvement for businesses with subscription models - it closes the loop between CRM activity and the revenue it generates.

Lead distribution improvements

Each sales team member can now have an auto-assignment setting: always in rotation, in rotation with a limit, or out of rotation. This gives sales managers much more control over how incoming leads are distributed across the team.

What this means for your sales operation

Odoo 20’s sales updates aren’t a dramatic reinvention - they’re a thoughtful set of practical improvements that reduce friction in the day-to-day work of running a sales team. The new dashboard, pipeline switcher, and periodic pricing all speak to Odoo’s R&D team listening to how sales teams actually work and smoothing the rough edges.

If you’re planning an upgrade, we’d suggest reviewing your current pricelist structure to see where the Daily Rates calendar could simplify things, enabling the new Pipeline switcher early for your managers if you’ve got multiple sales teams, and considering whether product images on quotes could lift your conversion rate - a low-effort change with high-visibility impact.
